How to Add a File or Folder to Your Backup
You can add files and folders to your backupA set of copies of your files on our servers. with the Carbonite menu. When you add a file or folder to your backup, a colored status dot will appear on the file or folder.
First, locate a file or folder on your computer. After finding it, right-click and select Carbonite; Back this up.
The file will then receive a yellow status dot indicating that the file is pending back up. When the backup is complete, the status dot will turn green.
The Back this up option is the same on a folder as it is on a file. When you add a folder to your backup, all files within the folder will also be marked for back up with the exception of files not automatically backed up by Carbonite. If you want to back up files that are not automatically backed up by Carbonite, you will need to select them individually.
When you select a folder for back up, you will see a confirmation dialog box displayed. This dialog box states that some files may not be selected for back up due to Carbonite's backup policy.
Click Ok to select the folder and files within for back up.
Click Cancel to keep the folder and files within unselected.
If you want to back up files outside of the policy, you can do so by right-clicking the individual file(s) and selecting Carbonite; Back this up.
