How to Add Files That Are Excluded By Default on Carbonite Version 1.x

You can add any files which are excluded from your backupA set of copies of your files on our servers. by selecting them individually through the Carbonite Preference pane. Unlike the Windows version of Carbonite, however, there is no option that lets you include files of a certain type in your backup.

 

 

Click the Apple symbol in the menu bar and select System Preferences to open the System Preferences window.

Within the System Preferences window, click on the Carbonite icon.

You will see the Carbonite Preference pane displayed. Click the Backup tab to view your backed up files.

You will see all the files and folders in your computer with dots on them indicating the status of their backup. Any file or folder with a red dot on it, indicates that it is not selected for back up.

Note: If you do not see a screen similar to the one below, click the Manually Manage My Backup button within the Carbonite Preference pane to view your backed up files.

 

 

Navigate to a file or folder you would like to back up with the browse window in the Backup tab.

Once you have located the data you would like to back upTo send a copy of your files from your computer to our servers for safe keeping., click the Back This Up button.

You are only able to select items with red dots, as yellow and green dots indicate that they are already selected for back up.

You can add any files which are excluded from your backupA set of copies of your files on our servers. by selecting them individually through the Carbonite InfoCenter. Unlike the Windows version of Carbonite, however, there is no option that lets you include files of a certain type in your backup.

 

 

Click the Carbonite icon in the menu bar and select Open Carbonite to open the Carbonite InfoCenter.

Within the Carobnite InfoCenter, click one of the tabs under MY FILES or DRIVES and navigate to a file or folder which is not selected for backup.

Any file or folder without a status icon next to the folder is not selected for backup. After locating the file or folder you wish to select for backup, click the Back this up button to select it for backup.
